An Overview to Positive Youth Development

Wednesday

January 26, 2022

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Positive Youth Development (PYD) is a lens of how we look at our young people in a way that empowers youth to become community leaders. During this interactive and discussion-based training, we will take a look at the biological, psychological, and developmental changes that occur during adolescence and how that explains why youth think differently than adults. We’ll examine labels we associate with youth and how we can flip our perspective of youth from troublemakers to problem-solvers. Lastly, we’ll dive into what the community, from families to the city at large, can do and are doing to empower youth.
